COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is now recognised as a significant burden for health care systems across the world. The disease places a large demand on limited resources, and those affected have a reduced quality of life, and a reduced life expectancy.
Pulmonary function analysis such as Spirometry cannot always document changes in lung function within these patients, but new research suggests that simple measurements of inspiratory function may reveal information about how effective different treatments can be.
